Hi. I have recently had a large ASD (hole in the heart) closed. My right side of my heart is enlarged. I have looked into riding RDA, but not sure if this is the way to go regarding dressage'. any ideas? Before I was diagnosed with a ASD I was about to begin Dressage' but then I had to stop riding ( was advised by my consultant). But now I am looking to the future:) and I would like to start dressage'. Caddy is an ex eventer and excelled in dressage' so I think he would enjoy getting back into it

Sorry to hear about the ASD. I was born with a large one and had surgery, but that was when I was a baby.
 
i have a mitral valve problem that has now started to cause TIA's,
also have another health problem which is being treated at the moment

iv had a look at your site, its really good, not to keen on your choice of music, but thats just my taste ;) or lack of it :D
 
Mmm, my little cousin has a condition where her heart is about half the size its supposed to be and has all sorts of other heart issues, not quite the same but she's had a few major operations and is now just started riding. Shes basically, I believe, not allowed to jump incase she falls, and stuff like that, where its more likely she'll fall. She's 9 at the moment and if doing walk and trot so its all good xD

Go for it if your doctor says its fine! xD
 
I am lucky I haven't had TIAs but, my lungs was put under a lot of strain and the right side of my heart is enlarged now. Are there any restrictions on your riding Colleen&Val? Do you get tired when riding? What disciplines can you do? Sorry I know a lot of questions, I guess I will just have to start riding again and see how much I can do myself (I am going to get back in the saddle this weekend! I hope:))

It's good that your little cousin is riding Rowerss, she will get a lot out of it as well as the physical exercise for her self (as we all know)
 
i havnt ridden this year as having treatment with something else at the moment, but as for restrictions, i cant do much without having some one with me, TIA's dont have a warning, they just happen, and yes im very tired all of the time :o

do you suffer with what i call white finger, where you lose feeling in some or all of your fingers and they go white as in no blood in them ?

under the boardwalk now theres a classic :D
 
I also need some one to ride with me or walk with me, just until I have my next scan. I don't get white finger but I do get very bad cramp in my legs, it isn't as bad as it used to be since I had closure.
TIAs are very scary aren't they? I have spoken to lots of people who have had them, but most of them when they have closure the TIAs stop.
Would love to use under the boardwalk but probably would end up in court:)
