Any Stirriup Iron boffins out there?

PSOB....In a word...No! :eek: I have NO idea! Never thought about it! Google was no help either. :(

(Mind you, when I was a kid, I thought POW spurs were Prisoner of War spurs...Not Prince of Wales! :giggle:)

Fillis irons have 'rounded' sides all the way down, and are more rounded-triangle shaped, without flat parts at the sides near the bottom. They are much heavier, the bottom 'tread' is heavier.

I wonder if the P in PSOB stands for Prussian? The Prussian stirrups are the other common shape.

You are going to make me lay awake wondering now! ;)

Fillis irons are triangular at the top and PSOBs (or Prussian Side Open Bottomed) are rounder.
