just bought some of this to use on my mare andhave 2 questions:

1) I'm worried about it burning her in the sun, as it's oil based. Am I just over reacting?

2) It doesn't say on the bottle it's a fly repellent, but does have citronella in the ingredients. Did I buy the right one?!

Mix it with 50% deet and I wouldn't worry about it burning, never had a prob with it.

Hiya i use this, it should be a bluey/greeny coloured bottle and is dry oil body spray. It does not say fly repellant as it is a skin product for humans! However it was recommended to me by a vet and farrier in the past! I found on its own very effective and mixed with other ingredients.

My boy has a very sensitive white sock (hind leg) and he did get sunburnt on it, yet is fine with it sprayed over the rest of him!

Yep thats fine! I used the bath oil but found it not as effective as the dry oil body spray.

The bath oil has cured our boys sweet itch and the dry oil spray does wonders for the flies!

I use the bath oil neat, and just spray on the manes and tails to keep flies away, not really on their bodies.
