So I'd love to do BE with my mare...starting with a few BE80s before moving up to BE90 of all goes well and then hopefully continuing on up the levels, but unfortunately BE is very expensive and my family is not so well off right now...

Anyone have any tips on how you could reduce your expenses BE? And has anyone made use of the Benefits scheme and what did you think of it? I'm planning to get a job myself obviously and help pay the entries etc, but anything else? Im mainly interested in hearing whether people have found the benefits scheme useful!

How big are they. I think you need to be a horse 15hh or over for BE90?

Get a good trainer.

Thank you, yes I knew this, my mare is 15.2hh and I have regular lessons and training through pony club...what I'm asking is how people help keep their costs down. Like I said, I mainly want to hear experiences with the benefits scheme. Thank you though :)

You are not going to save much money using this scheme. It is just a loyalty/discount card.

If you are looking for help with entry fees etc. you could look to approach equestrian companies asking for sponsorship. Put together a short profile of yourself along with how you could help advertise products (e.g. via social media, putting logo on lorry, etc.) and send it off. You never know unless you ask.

Thank you, the BE website made it seem as though you could help cover your membership/entry fees by using this scheme :) Yes I suppose that's always an option, however I though you had to be pretty established as a fairl successful low-level eventer whereas I have only ever done UA (fairly successfully but only at 80 with a youngster)
