which side should the bend be on???

There are 2 girls who use these on our yard, one has the bent bit on the outside of her foot, the other on the inside. Both can give good reasons for wearing them that way.
Which one is correct????

I think thr bend part should be facing outside easier for foot to slip in case of fall.

Why would they have it facing inside, as it would be against the horse's side so the foot is kinda 'trapped' no quick escape if that makes sense.

Can you give us reasons would love to know maybe its good.

I agree with it being on the outside of the foot.

The reason for putting it on the inside, was that if for example you fall off on your left side, your left foot will twist in the stirrup so that your toe points more towards the horses side. If the bend is on the inside, this will allow the toe part of your boot to be released from the stirrup, and the rest of your foot will slide out.

The reason for the bend on the outside was that this means there is less of your boot through the stirrup, so providing your stirrups are not too small, your toe should slip out of the stirrup anyway.

Sorry for the wording, it's hard to explain in words - they both gave a demonstration.....
... whilst holding an empty boot in the stirrup ....they didn't deliberately fall off their horses;)
