im after a barley and molasses free cube for the boys to go in there Feed balls. After one that's reasonably priced and must be barley free as Charlie my old cob gets loose stools on barley and molasses free as molasses turns paddy into a fruit loop. Thanks in advance.

Would that work with the limit balls? That is a good idea I do hang fruit and veg up like a kebab for them x

Off to look at a limit ball, but if nuts work then chopped to the right size I can't see why veg and fruit wouldn't. I used to chop mine up and freeze it in a bag so they were hard when I first put them in the ball x

Just searched limit ball and can't find one,do you mean likit ball? If so that is what I had and it worked fine :)

I have found that ,y local supplier does grass nuts quite resonantly too so may have some of these

I'd be wary of grass nuts, unsoaked they can be bad for causing choke. Just my opinion,I feed grass nuts soaked but wouldn't risk them unsoaked even in a treat ball.

They shouldn't cause choke as are similar texture to pony nuts even if unsoaked as long as horses teeth are fine if not had looked at Dengie Alfa nuts simp,e system do grass nuts as well

Yep but they all recommend soaking for the alpha nuts, grass nuts etc. As I say just my experience and opinion on them :)

I'd agree grass nuts are meant for soaking, a few as a treat ive not seen a problem with but more than a handful ive seen it cause choke in several horses, is seems they sap all the saliver out of the gullet.
Most nuts have mollasses in to bind them, you can get dried veg that might work.

I will phone up the feed companies and see what they say is best to feed I did contact simple systems before and they said there grass nuts to use in a feed ball but will check

Thanks for getting back to me.

If you feed the grass pellets by the scoop then we would always suggest soaking. However they should be fine in a feeding ball as they will only come out one at a time.

I hope that this has helped and please do get back to me if you have any further questions.

Kind regards
