In very sad times, my Joules 3-in-waterproof coat has died after 8 years of service :(

I do own two Musto's - but one is a bit long for riding & we all know how once winter sets in, one waterproof coat is not enough!

I'd ideally rather not spend the prices of Joules & Musto again, although they are worth it - if it could be under £50, it would be awesome :)

Any recommendations?

image.jpeg I like my Mountain Horse one. I bought it just before we came here, so over two years ago. It wasn't that cheap but I would think they are cheaper now online. I'll just have to google the name again, because I can't remember which model it is. It isn't very thick but I can fit a bodywarmer under if need be. It is certainly waterproof and has stood up to two winters here.(I bought it in black as you can see but they do other colours)

For good waterproof coats it's worth looking at motor cycle jackets. I had one at Surrey was about £60 but lasted 8 years and was light weight but so waterproof and a good length and fit for riding. I cannot remember the make now so apologies but there are lots to choose from and not often thought of when horse clothes shopping.

I have had to ditch my thick hi Viz coat. That only lastest 18 months. My previous one was 25 years old. Dontake them like they used to. My mum wants me to get another for wearing round the farm and for riding, although I do wear a tabard for riding. But I don't want to be hi Viz all the time. Besides by the time it's covered in mud and dirt it's not so hi viz. I've told her I'm going to go to the charity shops and just get a waterproof. They usually have a selection I'm at times.

Three in one Gelert.
I look into walking and sailing. They appear to be more robust and designed to be out in the weather.
Some horse stuff is just expensive fashion items. One of my riding coats I took back as it leaked. I got told I had hacked out too long!!! Eh hour and half is fairly normal in winter for me. Maybe I should pop up a brolly.:p

I like regatta for most stuff, they're normally about £25 in our local outlet, are good and waterproof and come in a good variety of weights, styles and colours :)

I like Aldi ski jackets, I’ve got two, cost me about £25 and are still going strong after three and four years.
