Has anyone ever come across a sable border collie?

I have one which we got from a kennels years ago (we thought she was a cross because of her colour), she is a fab dog and a lovely colour.

I have not come across many of this colour, anyone know if there are breeders that specialize in this colour?

I have only ever seen a few sable border collies.
I love all border collies!! My grandparents have always had them so i got brought up with them, but sadly they lost their last border collie (Kim) just over 1 year ago.:(

One of our working collies is completely red with just a small patch of white unter her chin, she's really small as well and a funny looking little thing, the best thing is she's the only one thats KC registered!

Are the sable ones more showing background? I have never seen a working one?

I have a sable bitch coming to live with me in January. I would'nt say that there is a breeder that specialises in them. In my opinion, whether it's a dog or any other animal, temprement and type should always come first, not colour.
I have lost my tri ex working collie to old age (18) and my blue merle to addisons desease at only 6 1/2 within the last 18 months and had decided to go looking for another dog. I like the rarer colours and blue merles seem to becoming too common for me now so I went looking for a red or lilac merle with good markings and type but came up empty but came across a loudly marked (big blaze, collar and long stockings) sable bitch and fell in love. Was only looking for a dog but could'nt resist her.
I'll still keep an eye out for a decent red or lilac merle though, but wil be a few years yet :D

I understand that the type and temperament come first, but we like her colour a lot.
My girl isn't a working collie, but a pet, and the next dog we have will also be a pet.
I know if I could find another sable bitch puppy my father would be over the moon, and having lost our other dog in june, and losing one of her sons (my own dog- not the collie- bother) just last week I am feeling I might like another puppy as ours are getting older now (collie is 12, my boy is 10).

I also like the look of the red and white collies (I would actually love a novia scotia duck toller, they are orange and look like a mix between a collie and a retriever)

Here is my sable girl
