Bucking on wet school surface, is this normal?

My 14 year old pony has never been very keen to work in the school whilst it's wet, he doesn't like to walk on the track where the puddles are and is very reluctant to do so, . Today, i was really adament to make him do it and he bronced me :O. Bucking is not OOC for him, but he's not done it for a good 5 months now, was just wondering if i am making excuses up for him and he's was having a naughty day, or if this is normal for horses to do?

he also could have been throwing a strop at been made to do as hes told...
