Rosa is in at night anyway (only through the winter though) and generally she's not turned out if it's lashing down. In the summer she's out 24/7 though :)

My horse, Mataya, she stays out if it's drizzling. Not completely pouring, but if it's just simply sprinkling outside, she stays out. They only way that she comes in if it's it's raining hard and it's winter outside, or if it's thunder and lightening, or completely down-pouring.

She doesn't mind the rain though.
:)

Hmm depends, on my old yard it was 24/7 out in summer and stuck in regardless alot in winter.
But new yard!!! Summer, unless hes soaked through then out, comes in to dry and re rug and back out. Winter, he didnt come in until last week, was supposed to be for one night but then decided we would conquer the stabling conundrum by making it routine to come in so hes in on a night (hopefully back out soon!!!!) and out all day, regardless of the weather.

Could not find an option that fitted me so:

I do not bring in for rain...however it is very heavy rain with high winds and a waterlogged ground then I would not turn out.

My lad is just recovering from a tendon injury he did in the field and also charges around like a bull in a china shop. I will not risk his leg by puttin ghim out in that combination.

If it is light to moderate rain of showers then he would go out....
I would be likely to keep him in if it were sever gale force winds as this makes him charge around and also if the ground is waterlogged there is no point in him going out.

He was in today and it was dry all afternoon but this morning was heavy rain/wind and waterlogged.....it does him no harm and there is not so much grass out there anyway. We do have the added advantage of being in a massive bull pen type stable...half wall in an airy barn, horses all round him and about 20ft x 30/40ft at a guess..

My,. what a coincedence this thread is..... Up here, it has been wet windy icy you name it, my boy and most of the others have been turned out grazing, however, there is a cobby type owner, hoss is fat, but, not his fault, and, he isent allowed out in such weathers, oh no, its not fair, he might slip and hurt himself. catch cold, although rugged up to the hilt too...well, cos he had been in for 3 days, cos of ice etc, the owner took him for a walk to stretch his legs, well, no way would i have walked mine down that lane, it was like an ice rink, i nearly fell on ma backy walkin my doggie down there...............

owners eh????

I would love to be able to leave mine out but where the rain is concerned he is a total whimp and unless he has a warm rug he stands and shivers. A few showers or a bit of drizzle is ok, anything more and he comes in - day or night

If it's really windy, very cold and raining very hard then they come in. Otherwise, they're out in all weathers. They are rugged. And, yes, we ride in the rain - but not if it's sideways rain ;)
