Does anyone get the equine influenza vaccine 6 monthly for their horse?

I just wondered if you know if it's the same vaccine as the yearly booster or a different type? Obviously I don't compete Ale but I'm looking to move his current yearly vaccination date from today to later in the year. The only way I can think of doing that without restarting that I can think of is asking for a booster at some point and then that gives me a year to get his vaccination re done?!

So if I get yearly today, 6 monthly booster in November will I then have a year from that date to work with? Thanks
 
Brilliant thank you both, I didn't want to embarrass myself asking the vet if it was a silly question! He got a clean bill of health today and the go ahead to do as planned re the injections PXL_20250514_114424151.jpg

You have to have it at exactly 6 months though which wouldn't help my situation of trying to get his vaccination later in the year next year but I'm hopeful that I can just do a booster at his next dental and then I've got a year to play with
 
With my boys they had there vaccinations earlier and early because of fitting into the zone days. They started at the end of October when i first brought them. At the end it had moved to the beginning of August. The one down side of zone days i guess.

But it shows the vaccine is ok to give at less than a yearly interval, and I'm sure the next annual one would be due a year after the last booster.

This has happened with me it used to be September and now we are at mid May, it looks like I might be away next year so I want to push it back to later in the summer again
