does fly spray prevent mutural grooming?

i dutifully put it all over honey every day at the mo - in an attempt to delay the headshaking (and working so far ) but by golly it tastes nasty when the spray goes in your mouth!

so just wondering if all the spraying actually prevents mutural gooming at all?

or if not if it's at all dangerous for the horses?! ie - should we be avoiding typical grooming areas such as the withers etc?

any thoughts?

Nope... didn't prevent my girlies from eating each others mane out and this stuff was enough to knock you out with one spray!

Little Un isn't keen on grooming Jim if he's got fly spray on. He gets no choice but he pulls some disgusted faces! It doesn't seem to bother Jim much if LU's wearing it.
