Hi! My lease horse has this weird twitch thing going on by his withers, neck (may happen in other parts of his body) and in his ears. I've never seen a horse twitch so much and he seems to get distracted from it. Could this be some sort of lice or something else like that? If so, how can I know for sure and how can I get rid of it? Thanks!

lice on a horse are bigger than human lice. just look at the skin and different areas and in the mane at the skin. you well be able to see them. if the horse has flakes in the skin just watch them for a minute and see if they move.. if they do guess what you have horse lice. sometimes lice well also make the horse get little sore spots too. if you do have lice on your horses use that dog dip for fleas and ticks..I bought a mini that ended up full of them and had to treat her right after i got her home...

i know horses that have lice. you can sometimes see them. there quite small. You can buy stuff that kills lice. Dont worry those lice cant live on humans ;) It is also the season for lice so dont worry to much ;)

Some people treat routinely for lice in spring. You can buy louse powder for horses or there are a number of shampoos for the purpose. Look closely around the root of the tail and along the crest of the neck where the mane grows.

if you want to be sure then i would get some lice-killing shampoo ^_^
i get paranoid about things like that, so at least when you're done you'll know there aren't any!
