I realise that they are now out of fashion as many prefer a flashband but am intersted in people's experience of them. I have seen a few on here.
Our cobby mare Kizzy is very strong her as neck is thick and she has a big head. She is ridden out in a mullen pelham at the moment but she is developing a habit of trying to avoid the bit by diving her head down. Teeth, back and tack have been checked recently. She is really just taking the proverbial as she is getting fitter.
After talking to a very knowledgable rider she suggested a drop noseband.
I understand you can not use a pelham with a drop noseband because of the curb chain. Can you use one with out the curb chain?
We are thinking of using her mullen mouth hanging cheek and a drop noseband- is this a good combination for a strong horse?
