Feeding pysillium husk

Does anyone feed this who is not on sandy soil? Was just wondering if it's a good idea to feed a low dose or not really needed?

It’s often recommended as a kind of gut balancer to help with things like faecal water syndrome, so there is benefits to using it other than for sand removal if there is little chance the horse has ingested sand though I wouldn’t feed it for sand removal, I’d just test for sand in the faeces (tbh I do this rather than feed it routinely now and I am on sand)
