Any suggestions for the best way of getting rid of old saddles? I have a collection of 5, and I need the space: there are three synthetic ones and two leather. The synthetic ones are in good nick, the leather ones are really old, although probably still usable. eBay means tons of photos, and the hassle of posting them; horsey car boot sales are pretty rare round here, and that's about all I can think of.

Here's the list:

1 Thorowgood black GP 18", medium /wide

1 Wintec dressage saddle with cutaway wither, black med 17"

1 Griffin GP, black med 17"

2 old brown leather GP saddles, 17" (fitted 13.2 pony) and one 18" (15.1 horse) - can't find a maker's name on either.

I know Roxy's Mum was looking for a thorowgood 18" black. It was a t4 she was after from memory - think she's in your general area as well...sorry, sticking my nose in where its probably not wanted!:redface::redcarded:

ETA - general area might end up being in England as well....my geography is pants.

I've just recently donated a lot of stuff, including saddles, to the Irish Horse Welfare Society - they were delighted as they have all sorts of unbroken horses in to get going before they have any chance of rehomeing them.

If you arent fussed about getting money for them then I would think there must be lots of rescue places over there that would be delighted with them?

Being really stupid here but do the thorowgoods not allow you to change the gullet to a xxw?

Unfortunately this is an old one - made before they invented the changeable gullets. It belonged to Barney, my heavyweight cob, but he was surprisingly narrow.

I'll post a pic of the saddle if you like, but I thought B was more interesting.
