Had to tell someone about the *brilliant* lesson I had today.
Been having half hour private lessons since mid August and REALLY having problems with rising trot( as you will have gathered from previous messages!)resulting in my getting frustrated and losing confidence. Well today my instructor thought it would be good to get me out on a short hack.
IT WAS BRILLIANT!!!. This will seem tame and routine to most but for me it was an acheivemnt and BRILLIANT!!! reminding me why I was doing this in the first place and regaining my enthusiasm. (don't think I'm too old to learn after all!)
Can't wait for next weeks lesson and the opportunity to repeat today as soon as I can.
What a wonderful way to spend a Saturday afternoon an a bright (cold) December day!

hiya norma , i know just how you feel , i had several 1 on 1 lessons for a few weeks , then when my instructor said she felt i was ready to go on a short hack with her i was over the moon , i was beaming from ear to ear all week upto my hack and afterwards i couldnt stop telling everyone about it, it feels brilliant afterwards, i,m so glad you enjoyed your first hack too , keep us informed on how your doing , and it feels even better when your intructor tells you you can hack whenever you want , enjoy and have lots of fun .

Thanks for your encouraging replies.
Perry described the way I felt perfectly.
My folowing lesson went much better as I felt a renewed determination!

Have a happy Christmas everyone.

Norma, How wonderful that you have found the true reason we all ride. To have fun!! Posting will come in time. I always taught my students (when I was teaching) to post in rythum to the song Three Blind Mice. Try it! Three (up) Blind (Sit) Mice(up). What the heck, Maybe your horse will enjoy being sung too. Good luck and continue to have fun!!
