I just saw a picture of a fore girth today and am intrigued, has anyone ever actually seen one in use?
A picture for anyone, who like me, has never seen one before
Apparently it fits under the front of the saddle to create a false wither to stop the saddle sliding forwards
Never seen or even heard of that! I can't imagine it would be comfortable for the horse as it must create quite a pressure ridge under the front of the saddle, but I can see the appeal of making a wither.

Bit of a google search and good 'ole New Rider comes through again; https://www.newrider.com/threads/fore-girths.14702/
It looks like they have been mostly replaced by point straps now, or a point strap extension as in WOW saddles.
