Is there any treatment for girth galls. Do they go down on there own or are they there permanently once the horse has them. If they do go down how long does it take for them to disappear. How big can they get.
Jess got one last summer when I forgot her girth and dug out an old and somewhat crusy spare one as a one off, she got a soft lump about the size of a large boiled sweet. Hers went in about 2 days and I junked the girth and never had more problems.
Mmm, Im starting to wonder if its a girth gall at all. This is the size of a pea and has been there since before christmas. Its not open or weeping. Thinking more like sarcoid. It came up really quick, but it hasnt got any bigger. I brought a girth sleeve. Hoped it would have gone by now. Might try bathing in salt water.
