I'm so very sorry to hear this. It must have been such a shock, as things were looking up. You did everything you could have done for him, and he was very lucky to have had such a loving, caring owner. I'm sure you will be reunited one day. Sending you big hugs.

When I see you name up or read your posts, I always think of those photos of you and Jack jumping bridleless. I was utterly gobsmacked and inspired to work so much harder at my relationship with Rosie in the hope that one day we could be half as good as you two were.
I am so so sorry for your loss and in tears just thinking about how much you must be hurting. I think your comment about another pony will find you is just right, when the time is right and you were very lucky to have had such a fab horse to make you the excellent horsewoman you now are. RIP Jack

they tend to do that, i wasn't going to get another horse till spring/summer 2011 with rosie being retired now, but when i saw the little mare, something about her expression and her situation just spoke to me, so here we are middle of winter, no stable, ice snow and a new horse. totally daft but we are managing.

Thanks Anna, it is because of where we were that is the most painful part, will i ever get that bond with something else.

I still have the freestyle dvd sitting waiting to be posted to the usa, it'll have to go as it'll be years before i send another one. It won't matter now what level it comes back at, it will just say this is where we got to.

I am not looking for anything else though there is an empty stable up the yard, everything is just sitting where it lay, there is bound to be a little equine in need this christmas that could stand in it. No one can bring themselves to look in let alone put anything in there.

I live in a small community and everyone is shocked.

Jack

Hi NewForest

I am so shocked, I really thought little Jack was on the mend, how awful for you Karen, me and the newfies here send all our love.

I will never forget Jack and his dislike of my pink hat, in fact that was rip on Sat too (the hat replaced with black!). I will always remember our day and the relationship that you had with him.

I am sure he will be with you always.

Love AlfiesMum

Hi

The main reason for me rejoining New Rider was seeing this thread and wanting to add to it. I was very very sad to see that you lost your lovely boy at a young age. I had been following your exploits with him for some time with great interest and was both shocked and sorry to see this thread.

He really had turned the corner and it was a case of waiting for the infection to heal.

I didn't know that he had a thrombosis in his neck, that was kept an eye on, but there is a very high risk of colic surgery cases getting colic again and a percent of those require surgery again. Sadly he fell into that minority and jointed the vet and i said no.

He just peacefull fell asleep with a little help, he was already laying down on his way.

Our best moment, bareback and bridle less with a hop

Thinking Of You

There is a new little heartbeat in my world
It doesn't mean I've forgotten you
You were the one who taught me about me
I was not ready though, for you to go

You are still so missed by friends
Everybody loves, everyone has a bond
You touched everyone heart
Both locally and beyond

Your special friend still looks for you
He knows where you lay
Watching the sun come up
Sometimes he'll wait all day

Somedays are better than others
I don't know about time healing
It is hard to bond with a new one
But it gives me a sense of feeling

You both would have loved each other
You both had eyes for romance!
She'd have flirted and you'd have helped yourself
The pair of you would be lethal, making babies dance

Thinking Of You

Thinking of you today one year on.

I took a photo of the sky at the time you went up to join Gina.

Thank you for all you taught me and allowing me into your world, forgiving me for the all the stuff ups and waiting for me when i hit the deck, for not bucking me off with that famous left behind photo. For allowing me to ride you bridle less up the gallops and stopping at the top.
