:DBit self indulgent i'm afraid....BUT...you know when it feels like everything is finally coming together and you are actually getting somewhere? I hadn't schooled my ex-racehorse for a couple of weeks because i've moved him to a different yard which has the most fantastic hacking so i've been exploring! Anyway, finally took him in the school today and he was brilliant! Went in a consistent outline in walk, and we worked on walk-trot transitions without his head shooting up. No cantering because I want to establish a good trot before we canter in the school. Out hacking i haven't been letting him wander along how he likes, but instead making him go how I want and I think the hacking has really helped his schooling :). There was a double of x poles in the school which I popped him over at the end to make it fun and he jumped it twice perfectly, jump..stride...stride...jump :D So happy, my horse is learning!!
