Whilst waiting to collect dear daughter from the under 18's, i started browsing the old internet for an app for my ipod, something around confidence as mine has gone on a downward spiral even more then it always has, couldn't find an app but found this Hacking with Confidence Hypnosis, downloaded it just in time to listen before my taxi duties.

Well i dont remember much of it, except feeling tears building when i was thinking of my special place obviously with Ace, then nothing until i heard her say 'see that hill in the distance' and oh my days my heart started pounding, breathing increased, i knew what was coming as this is how i feel when my instructor says anything about cantering ( My Big confidence Issue), i was on tender hooks waiting for her to say the C word, and it took a few strides before i could breath again, and again sloped off in a relaxed state, until i was aware of tears building again this time from being so proud of myself for what i had accomplished.

Has anyone else used this? And had the same effect? I am going to use it every day and see how it goes. I havent hacked Ace out for 4 weeks now as at the only gate into the forest has had gas works going on i decided to stay clear. Last week i tried to take him as they had gone but left the hole filled in with gravel and barriers all around, Ace didnt like it at all. Tomorrow my hubby is going to walk out with me, and i really want it to go well i want to be beaming from ear to ear and gloating how much i love my pony instead of thinking he would be better off woth someone who can at least bloody canter! I will update on how it goes and if i think the hypnosis works x

I really hope your hack goes just how you would want it to go and you are on cloud 9 when you return.
Where did you get the app from I have had a lovely little ipod for christmas.
I too am desperate to hack out again but my head is still playing silly games even though I am a lot more confident now I am having lessons again.
Have a great day and tell us how you get on xxx

Thanks :smile: Well i am on cloud 9 as we made it home safely!

Started off with hubby still being asleep, and me thinking you know what i used to hack him out every day i can do this by myself! So off we go, get to one of the gates on the orivate roads which has always been a place where Ace would nap however lots of leg and he goes round to the right to continue up to the forest. Well on approach he starts to slow down, as if its his point of no return and he starts to jog round, i am like "breath" steady boy, he starts to walk then SPIN to the left into a bloody hedge, he stands there to compose himself and me to start to breath again, quick look to the right and it is bloody bin day!!! All the houses up the track have all their rubbish out. THought about going home, but no, lots of leg and reassurance to him we get slowly up the track ~Phew!! Over the road i could feel him thinking "um this is where something freaked me out last time" but he was a good boy going through the gate and onto the common. Slowly walking up the track, thinking about feeling him move under me, telling him how proud i am of him. Decide to do the shortest route so we could build on it all week, so go to go round a house, he is like umm we never been this way, gently applying pressure get round the house with him spooking at a plant in their garden ~ Silly boy! I look to the right and see 2 vehicles with horse trailers, I think "will he??, Ace has a problem with other domesticated horses" Never mind there are about 15 wild ponies in front of us! He stands, staring at them driving away i am trying to get him walking then he does this like mini something, front legs then back legs off the floor, i jump off! And stand with him talking. Once they have gone, walk around to the ledge i can get on him from, line him up and 1 of the wild ponies decided they didnt want us there so started to charge at us, so we swiftly walked off, further down the track towards the gate home, he stand perfectly for me to get on him, and poodle off to the gate. Before we crossed the road, told him we are going to walk home, NO JOGGING Mister Ace, and no being scared!! And he was a super star all the way home.

So even though it wasnt perfect and i got off, i was smiling and he was yawning back at home. Onwards and upwards for us.

I got the download from a search on google, i think i can download it a certain amount of time. If you want, send me your email address, and i will email you it to try and see if you can get it for free x

:dance::dance:Well done :dance::dance:
Daisy hates going past other ponies too, I am starting to think that I think "OMG there are other ponies again" and maybe tense up? sending her the wrong message.
But thats great that you went out even if OH was snoozing, your mind was set for it and that makes all the difference I think.
You must be close by to me because your status is Christchurch, I ride (or rode, and will do again) on a common and it is bin day today here!!
I'm at Parley
PM my email to you

I used it last year when Henry was being a nightmare, I think it helped but I also used lots of other things, oddly I think the biggest step for us was hacking out alone, yes he can still be silly but at least I only have to worry about me and him. I love hacking my horse again, we had the odd iffy moment but on the whole he's the horse I trust more than anything!

I used it a few years ago - I think it helped a bit:D. Like Lots, I used a few different things round about the same time but every little helps!

Well done on you hack - onwards and upwards!

Once I finally decided it was okay to get off whenever I wanted to, I found I was getting off less and less. It was as though once the pressure to stay on was taken away, I was able to relax and stop worrying about staying on so he sensed it and he relaxed too (if that makes sense:eek:)

Well didnt have a chance to listen to it yesterday as went out socialising from midday :biggrin:, this morning got up and my friend was coming to school Ace, as she is incorporating canter back into his school work for me so it isn't such a big deal, when i finally get round to doing it :redface: Anyway she was having car problem, so cleaned out tack room and then decided to try and tidy some of the house whilst i waited for her to get her car going. By the time i heard from her it was raining quite a bit, so thought i'd try and listen to the cd again, well i remember putting it on and next thing i wake up when we get to the top of the hill we had just cantered up, no tears this time throughout and i just drifted back into my trance! So tomorrow we are going on a little pony ride again, and see how it goes x

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH :stomp::stomp::stomp:

Hubby just asked fro my plans for tomorrow, and said hack in the morning and he just informed me the road works are back and BIGGER then last time :timebomb: So what to do??? Take him out on the roads somewhere he has never been, or just keep listening to the cd, and when they go again just restart. May be worth just walking him inhand up there and then pop on when through the gate, bloody gas works!!!!!!!!!!

Exactly the right thing to do!:)
