Hairy Pony? Tried a Furminator?

that looks more effective & less effort than my shedding blades!!

I also HATE coat change. Luckily Biggles is full clipped but wish i could clip the youngsters haha!!

I use one of those metal spring curry combs with circular blades, but I agree, that looks more efficient and less effort! The trouble with mine is the hair won't come out for ages and they get too hot, then I can't get it out fast enough!

I've bitten the bullet and ordered one off ebay. Will let you all know!
I have the same thing LP, she starts moulting about now, and I'm still coming home covered in hair well into May. Am hoping this will help speed things along :)

i cant find them on ebay!!! i want one

There you go!

I bought one at Christmas for my Saluki cross. He had mange and the fur on his flanks came back fluffy, more like a collie's coat. This is fantastic - he'll stand for hours letting me comb him with it, and it really does the job.

I'm going to be using it to thin Kelly's mane when the weather improves!

Okay folks, I furminated Arnie tonight - and he loved it:D. Probably more so than any other grooming thing I've used on him. It did take out the loose hair but more than that, it seemed to shift all the greasy dandruffy stuff that they aquire over the winter. He's looking all nice and shiny now and very very happy:D

Ooh that would be brilliant for my shetland Rosie, she gets really dandruffy and her coat takes forever to come out, going to get one of those come payday!

I saw one of these smart coats being used in a demonstration on a large cob last year at the BETA show by my distributor (Smart Grooming). It is a variation of the smart tails comb but with more teeth and is made in Germany.

Not the cheapest on the market, but a very effective piece of kit

That is a giant version of the Mars shedding brush I use on my collies and the Shetlands. Not happy with the joob on the ponies.

Skippy's Mum, you groom dogs don't you. I shall send you my old collie plus a suit of armour and you can groom her for me ;) ;) :D :D. It's her only thing you cannot do to her, she bites, and she means it too. It's a two man job, one to scruff and one to groom.

Wally I have way better toys for old collies - power blasters that blow all the dead hair out the coat - and if you blow it on your face you look like the fighter pilots when the G force is kicking in:D. Brilliant machine!!

I've just never quite had the nerve to blast Arnie (although I can and do Jet wash him:D:D).

Stencilbum - you can do serious damage to a horse with that gadget. The smaller ones are great for manes and tail but you could really do a horse an injury with one that size. It wouldnt be me:eek:

OOh darn, I should have asked you about it when I was round last night - I would love to see it. My horse has been having the local spa treatment again... All that loose hair, cemented in with mud
