Can someone explain to me the correct way of executing a full halt? My instructor has me do it over and over again, and sometimes she says I've done it so much better than another time, but to me I am doing the same thing
When you halt, you don't want to think "slow slow slow into stop." You want to think "forward forward forward into stop." You need to keep up your impulsion until you have completed the halt. If you can keep moving forward until you have fully halted, you stay balanced & on the bit.
If you let go and just sort of shuffle into the halt, you lose your balance, you lose your outline, you lose eVERYthing and end up all strung out
Was that approximately what you wanted to know? It's a little hard to guess what you're already doing; if you want to go into more detail on your question we can go into more detail on the answer
