Hey! Please help me! :(
I'm a new rider (well not really) but i have never cantered before and i'm going to tomorrow when i go horse riding with my aunt. can anyone give me some tips on cantering for the first time?:) thanx Lilly

there are some good threads and info on cantering in "training the rider" board. but a little advice, keep your legs from squeezing, heels down and don't forget to breathe, and most important, have a good time...

cantering with ease

sitting back is really important, if you tip forward the horse might think you want to go even faster. Keep your shoulders back and your legs nice and relaxed and you'll be just fine!

Dont' worry!:D If its' your first time then you'll only probably have a few strides of canter to get the feel of it! Just relax and try to go with the movement and you'll be fine! :p Let us know how it goes!

I don't know if this is any help. I found that, when I was learning to canter, it didn't really help when people told me to sit back. Instead, I thought 'sit tall', and that worked. :)
