if there is ever one thing we all wish to feel is stress free!as all of us feel it to some degree people and animals.some are more prone than others of course, but one thing ive noticed is the horses tail seems to be some sort of indicator into a horses well being a varied many horses ive know have had very limp, short, thining tails, these particular horses were all very stressed and had major vices.it can also be a sign of major excitment or anxciety just on the run up to a major competition for a competitive horse.(some cases the tail can disappear).on the other hand can indicate some poor health, depending on the circumstances of course.this is only food for thought and im sure its already been noticed.case story here.i was always on the believe that if you fell under a horses feet they would not deliberatly step on you?not this occasion,i know of a person who has several horses and they are treated ok and fed-simple as that they believe in toughning them, rugs not great, these are blood horses which need a bit of winter protection, one of his horses decided to get its own back by stamping all over the owner!in the mud, this horses ment it and found an excuse to do it,he let the grand daughter ride this horse and she was a bit slap happy shall we say! what goes around comes around! i continually work to soften a horses body in as many ways possible by relaxation, and being comfortable, the neck of the horse is a great indicator of any possible negative tension, and if the neck unusually becomes tense while schooling i just get off and check everything,if nothing, i usually end the sesion if still tension, is overriding his way of going and leave it at that, if pushed throu an uncomfortable barrier the horse will display it again in the same spot, but unpushed will forget the issue and be non the wiser, even as simple as a fold in the numnah or saddle cloth can do it. im actually hyper sensitive in my own personality and seem to pick up un minor detail,i do have to work on controlling my own nervous system, we have pills from doctor we can take horses cant,we can look deeper into suppliments for naturally high tempered horses which is a must in those circumstances.
