I reregistered assuming my old account would be extinct, but maybe not Mike? Can’t imagine there’s many of us still on the board. I’m a lady of a certain age who used to have a Highland called Mossy. He went to that great paddock in the sky two years ago. I’m still riding, another highland, and my mare, who is also a lady of a certain age. Nice to be back. So many fora have been swallowed up by social media.

A highland was my ambition! I planned on buying a youngster around now as Jake is now 19 and my other ridden horse was the same so I figured a baby to just handle a bit and eventually take over from them as being my horse. Then Oz came along and ended that dream!
Are they as gorgeous in personality as the look??

They are lovely but a creature of their own opinions and very strong. They are ponies but can carry a grown man all day, so a cute little child’s pony they are not. Mossy took my then 2 year old granddaughter to the ice cream van, not a hoof wrong. Two days later we were hunting on Dartmoor flat out for 6 hours and he scarcely broke sweat.

What you say about Highlands resonates with me. I wanted to buy the RS one that I rode in lessons, never occurred to me that I hadn't hacked on him. Apparently he was very strong and hard to stop when out - even the escorts had a hard time with him. Anyway, they wouldn't sell him to me - for my own good!
