You hear people saying this all too often, and I was thinking about it this morning, most HiViz is frumpy and shapeless and it is pretty not cool, so I thought I'd ask if anyone has come across nicer HiViz, something that's cut nicely and maybe a little bit cool?

I have the polite gilet and summer weight thingy, those at least have a little shape to them, but I mostly ride in my HiViz air vest now, I was just mulling on it this morning and thought you lovely peeps might have some input :)

I bought a cyclist hi viz vest type gilet for the summer - much more fitted and cooler too. There are several types to choose from. In the winter I still wear my HI viz that Flipos mum sent me as my secret santa present a few years back - it say Out for A Plod if you read across - if you read down it has large letters that spell out OAP - I love it! :D

I dont know what you mean by cool.
If you are looking for something a bit more fitted than riders over-jackets, I suggest you look at specialist cyclist wear. Cyclistas wear tight fitting (steamlined) hi viz -sometimes very striking, like I noticed one the other day in black with plum coloured high viz stripes. We ride in an area used by cyclists for training and I have noticed their wear wondering if it would be good for riding, and also because I have son in laws and grandchildren who cycle seriously and use birthday money for the latest high tech cycling wear.
If you mean cool in the sense of wear for hot weather, in Texas the traffic martials wear loose waistcoats but made of a mesh and I havent seen that fabric on sale here.
As I always ride in a bp, loose high viz suits me .

O Cortrasna - that sounds lovely. Except I remain a speed merchant! If I am feeling well, I grumble if we go on a plod!

I am very bad. I dont wear high viz in summer. We are not on roads and the staff ride in what look like their underwear - strappy vests . Contrast with OH who says cowboys never wear short sleeves. He always wears long sleeves.

I have my Charlotte Dujardin Mercury Jacket which I love but it is too warm for the summer months so I just wear a hi viz vest, which you can adjust at the waist and has side pockets.

The closest I found was the equisafety one, which is light mesh, has the adjustable waist and a zip pocket for me phone

I buy the short sleeve hi-viz/neon running tops from Aldi and use a bum bag for my phone in warm weather. If I get hot and sweaty I soon cool down and dry off. I have a couple of LW hi-viz cycling jackets with zipped pockets (guess where from?? :p) for cooler days or light rain and then a thick padded hi-viz (yup, from there too!) for winter. I also have a pink reversible padded gilet and an old, "Polite" gilet.

You are very bad Skib, even though you don't ride on roads hi vis will help the emergency services spot you if, god forbid, you ever had an accident.
I know when I fell the air ambulance guys said my hi vis made me much easier to find even though the ambulance crew were with me on the ground.
