It doesnt seem out of the question to me to offer a share and stipulate that that would include a lesson with the horse's own trainer.
What I would love at the moment is to share a horse for one dressage lesson each week, plus schooling and hacking. I even saw that advertised on Facebook and it was too far from where we live.
But if one cropped up near us, I would take it.
5 years old is younger than I would share and the problem could be that if a skilled sharer schooled your horse to a good level, they would want to go on with it as a mature horse and possibly compete it too. I got fed up working with one RS pony and as soon as we got to novice tests, finding that he was removed from me and I had to start over with a new arrival. But if you were near me, I guess we might work something out.
My other feminist suggestion is to get yourself your own car. My car is 16 years old and quite good enough to drive to the yard and back. It would cost you the insurance and licence but some of my elderly friends including my s..i.l. also believe their lives depend on having a car of their own to live independently of their OH.
