Hmmm......4 for me already!!
3 in our debut cross country (on the flat every time i asked for canter:rolleyes: over excited horse syndrome:rolleyes:o_O) and 1 jumping in the school when I hesitated and left her to it, hence refusal and scooting out with me going straight over.
In the old days I used to bank on 2 falls a year, with Cocaïne its less dependable:D

So how many for you.............?
& how many do you expect for 2019..............:p?

I'm nervous to talk about this for fear of jinxing it.
I've had no falls and don't plan on any. I've come off Jess once since she's been ridden, so going on 12 years. ******Runs off with everything crossed to knock on wood and prey to the falling off gods, might even throw in a sacrifice for good measure!

I've come off 2 other horses a few years ago, both bloody stupid falls from a walk, 1 just sat on and he spun around the person leading us, she was too busy pissing about in her pocket to get a treat to do anything, saddle slipped and off I flopped. The other I was adjusting my right stirrup, foot out looking down when he spooked left and I was left behind.

In the last 14 years, I have come off 4 times. The first two necessitated hospital visits, one as an outpatient (no BP), one for a 4-day stay (BP on) . So in my head, all falls in later life meant injury! Then I fell off Albi on a fun ride (BP on) and was absolutely fine, got back on and carried on, then last year I came off G, again was physically fine (no BP) but mentally I was damaged from that one. It's all about how you land, isn't it. Not something I'm planning again, ever, but..... well, you know!!!

I've come off four times since I returned to riding as an adult. Once in the RS, jumping and 3 times from Raf - once over a tractor that he kept spinning away from, then spinning towards to have a look - we were stood in a field at the side of the road and eventually I got out of sinc with his spins and went in the opposite direction. I had a muddy landing and was unhurt. The next time was when a pheasant flew out from under his feet, he spooked, I rolled over his shoulder and finished up on my feet, face to face with Raf. I don't know which of us was the most surprised o_O The last time was the incident of the ditch, where he spooked at a wagon coming up behind us and fell down an approx. 15' ditch. I plopped off into the stinky muddy ditch water at the bottom and somehow Raf managed to gain purchase on the side of the ditch, jump over me and scramble up the other side. How he did it I don't know, it took me ages to get up the side of that ditch to get to him. Again though, completely unhurt but very smelly. That was years ago and hasn't left me with a fear of falling off (although I really don't want to), but I do have a bit of a phobia about ditches

Raf has been really upset every time I've fallen off - think wild eyed, flared nostrils, a bit shaky, help me mum scenario. He has saved me from falling off so many times, he's a very generous soul. Unlike Jack whose mind process seems to be, "Oh, no rider! I'll just quickly get some grass ... oh look, there's some over there ..." hurried trot to nearest food source.

Lol you and me both! Make the sacrifice just in caseo_O:p:p

Used to come off Ramsey regularly - mainly because he was a tripper upper. Over the head and boomph! Threw myself off once when he bolted down a steep hill - we'd met a horse and cart in the middle of the forest. So far not come off Hogan, but we've stayed very much in the safe zone, with no saddle. Walking in the closest inclosure only. Think the falling off is more likely once that saddle's on and the REAL riding starts. (And the arguments).

Had ginger 7 years Total falls

One rear as a 4 year old landed on my feet

One buck after teaching him to jump - landed on my feet so hard I broke my ankle

I took a bad line at a 1m spread landed on my feet

He leaped jumped and kicked out throwing me very high and landed hard on a frozen surface

2017 stopped at a jump and broke two ribs

Two months later I was using a chair to mount when it moved spooked him and I ended up under him

So just less then one a year

I’ve fallen off about 7-10 times in the past 15 years I don’t have an exact count. I don’t fall off much, mind you I got used to Kia and once we stopped jumping high ( 2ft6+) unless hunting the falls went to pretty much zero, we had a spate of throwing me through fences before he was diagnosed with arthritis In His hock.

I fell once a year for 10 years learning to ride. Then it decreased. But my falls were mostly hacking. My main activity is hacking RS horses with unreliable escorts. I never fell off my share.
Was about to resume riding when I tripped on a bollard 2 weeks ago and fell on my arm while walking the dog.

Ooft id have to go back and read my diary to find out how many times I fell off flipo over the last nine and a bit years but I think it’s in the region of 12 times. There was the once infamous on here fart fall. But I’m glad that won’t be so well remembered these days lol!
My past was maybe a year and a half ago. We’d been fine for a few years prior to that, and had some serious and not so serious dents to both my bones and my confidence, but glad to say the last one was just a canter in a muddy carrot field post harvest, flipo decided to go into a ploughed bit and fell to his knees and I had a very soft side door exit. I also managed to catch him before he ran off panicked this time - in the past he’s always made a run for home.....bloody annoying, and usually tack damaging in the process!

@Skib sorry to hear about your accident. I hope you're recovering well.

I average 1 fall a year in my period of owning Ziggy, mostly small but a couple of nasties. This year I haven't ridden yet but I didn't fall last year and don't plan to fall this year, since 2 broken wrists in 2 ski holidays have made me cautious about my absence of bounce!
