Wondered if anyone knows where I could get to ride an Icelandic horse?
I live in the Midlands and am willing to travel, not as far as Iceland!, but hopefully somewhere in the UK where I can have a day's experence, including getting to know the breed and 2-3 hours riding.
Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

Mandy and Smari Slater are in Wales, who offer Treks http://www.eddahestar.com/ I know its a bit to travel for you, but should be doable.

Unfortunatley not many places offer Icelandic riding any more (when I win the lottery I shall!!) but you can always go through the society (www.ihsgb.co.uk) and try and find someone close to you who would be happy to help.

Hope that helps, and good luck, they're a fab breed!

Fi Pugh is not far from you, Malvern. She was very kind years ago in letting me have a go on her Stallion and I am afraid I got the bug thereafter. I blame her :D

You could give her a call, her details are on the IHSGB web site.

Good luck, be careful what you wish for though, they don't come in one's.

They all told me that Wally and here I am still with my single Icey and both of us very happy. But maybe Im the exception.;)
He did live out with another Icey in our last place but where we are now, its quite a mixed bunch and it seems that he is now in charge of the little herd hes in!
