Need a better side view pic to compare. But the light wasn't right. This was as I was doing. I'll tidy it up more over the next few days but he was getting fed up of being a model.
I've never hogged before, but I'd been thinking about it for a while. His mane is so thick and long that if I take six inches off it, it sits on the reins, making them heavy, and I have to flick them out all the time. I'm glad when it grows long as it sits down flatter.
Theses last couple of weeks his mane has been awful and greasy. It feels minging to touch. Hes so sensitive to me hosing his neck and water anywhere near his head is a complete no no. Its got really greasy and I just cant shampoo it without a massive fight. The reins are minging with the mud and body grease. I've just taken a scrubbing brush to his bridle to clean it. Hes really sweaty underneath with work so I decided it needed cutting. It's not fair to attempt pulling to thin it. Hes head shy and quirky enough with water, so I've gone mad an hogged him.
I might regret it but it's done now, so I will have to see how it grows back. Of course if I like it it might permenately stay hogged. My biggest worry is that he will have more vision behind him to be silly at things.
