i realised today that all the mares on the yard we keep ours at their names all end in the eeee sound, so i was wondering is it just that its a complete coincidence or is it common for horses, more specifically mares, all end in the same sound.

so we have Minnie and Annie

completely random thread but i was just wondering

Don't know about mares but my horse has the ee sound as he's called Harvey

My mare doesn't know as she's called Piccolo but saying that she's called Piccy a lot

My two boys are Ziggy and Mattie

But Ziggy is ZigZag, or the Ziglet, or the Zigmeister, and Mattie is the Matster when he's good and Matthew when he's not

Sure thing . . . Kali :)

In addition, we have:

And before that:

Ollie
Rocky

Molly

wow thats alot of names!

We've got a Robbie and an Archie

Plus, the dogs are Polly and Issy

I think I read somewhere that animals react well to a name with an "eeee" on the end - this was years ago and I may be a bit confused:redface:

Abby, it does sound like aaaabbbbbeeee when i scream across the field haha. I also have a little doggy Holly. How strange, ive never thought of everything ending in eeeeeeeee :giggle:

Me too - I have Hebe and Barney, and Cammy, and Ginny who's no longer with us. But their real names are Barnstormer, Cameo and Pink Gin - most of the ee's around come from diminutives, don't they?

And my dog is called Josephine.
