don't know if anyone has ever done this but i wanted to ask your opinions. there's a local show within hacking distance of the yard at the end of the month. I'm going to do the 2'6 & 2'9 classes on the horse i ride but i have also been teaching my friend a little bit. she's only popped tiny x poles on the lunge & isn't confident to jump on her own (horse is a strong girl & gets fast & excited when jumping). do you think it's ok to take her round the lead rein class on a 16.2 when all the other competitors are little kiddies on ponies?

Usually there is an age limit on lead rein riders (8, 10 and 12 I've seen at various local venues) ... and there tends to be a size limit on lead rein horses (usually 12.2) ... so you'd really have to ring the show sec to ask if there are any suitable classes for your friend - maybe the clear round ring?
