Lexie's Honour

Well.... it's been an amazing week! Lexie has proved to be an absolute star, especially she had to stay in 23/7 for a few days too. She has been polite and sweet-natured and very handleable (new word!! lol)

Last night was her piece de resistance..... we collected Jack from his holibobs with his old mate and led the pair back to their field. Lexie has never been on a road but walked the quarter-mile journey down the lane like an absolute pro. Behaved brilliantly to be turned loose.... and then ran about LOTS!!!

Not to stall progress, I didn't have a lot of time today because Gracie and I are off to a pony party in the morning, but I made time to spend 5 mins with Lexie. I "caught" her.... well she was stuck to my side lij e a limpet so there really want much catching about it. Point is, she stood like a rock to be headcollared. I led her into the pen, tied her up and picked up all her feet without issue. She then got a big positive fuss and I led her back into the field and released her. No fight, no resistance. Perfect. I'm thrilled with her.

Lexie continues to be a total joy. Once again I've been lazy but today I brought her into the pen, tied her up, groomed her all over and worked on the tangles in her mane and tail. It was only when I was brushing her hocks that I remembered that I haven't really brushed her hinds thoroughly before, bit she didn't give a monkeys. When she was in for the week, I discovered that If I try to brush her feather she dances around BUT if I lift her hoof, she will patiently hold it up and let me brush her feather! On all 4 legs! So today I combined that with tapping her hooves with the plastic curry that I happened to be using. Again she was totally un-bothered. Honestly, I really can't believe that change in her. She's amazing.

Oh..... just a short vid of an oopsie caught on camera this week!!
