iv just got a tb on trial shes five she was broken in at 3 and hasnt been touched for two years and i just need a little bit more control when leading shes fine walking halting but as soon as she gets worried or excited she starts canterin bucking little circles around me which i dont have much control in a headcollar and leadrope and as shes still settling in i dont want to throw a bridle on her and just stress her out even more

does anybody have any tips ....

I would just wrap the lead rope round her nose then pass it back through the head collar. Then if she gets strong it will give you extra control. Just make sure if it goes tight, you losen it off again once she stops pulling.

I would concentrate on teaching her to back up and respect your space, google Monty Roberts and look at his training video's, its all non violent and about understanding things and seeing it from the horses point of view.

If you try to force her to lead and supress that flight instinct she will fight you more and she will get even more scared, if you take the time to teach her what is not acceptable you will gain in the long term.

There is no rush, after all you have the rest of your lives together - hopefully :)
