I have had my horse on part loan now for 5 months, she has been great.
I have been having lessons of her mum which is really helpful. I have hacked her out quite a lot and she is good as gold, until yesterday.
Took her out up the lane, and she decides she would prefer to be back in the field with others.
She would not walk forward, very good at going backwards though, did not matter what I did she would not budge an inch. I ended up sitting there for ten minutes and made her stand, then tried again. No way she walked backward, in a great small circle but not forwards, Actually smacked her with the whip which I hate doing, she still walked backwards, I was finding this quite amusing, she is not scary as she does this in slow motion.
Ended up shouting at her, still walked backwards, after about twenty minutes turned her round and screamed at her to move on and off she went, only went about 50 yards and left it on a good note.
Apparently she is prone to this in the summer as she does not want to work, dont we just love them.
We must have looked very amusing, just hope nobody saw us!!!
