Hi guys

So whose had one done?
What vehicle was it for?
How much did it cost?
How much more fuel efficient is car?
Any affect on towing capabilities??

TQ!!
:D

boss has all cars and trucks converted...

they say they loose 10% of power - but makes no difference to their trucks as they are 4L or something obscene like that!!! they are automatic toyota landcruisers - tow like a dream still

they do it because for the milage they are doing they save money (round farms - from inverness to south or perth regularily) they buy their LPG direct and have a tank on farm so works out cheaper - but have to re-fuel at each farm if doing long run as they only do about 200 miles per tank.

not sure of price?!

We are on our second LPG discovery and have towed a large laden trailer all over Europe. According to our mechanic (amr in stokesley) it should make no difference to your towing as long as your filler point isn't on the tow bar.
The fuel economy is just the same but LPG is still roughly half the price.

We looked into it for our old Landi. The main issue for us would be where to put the gas tank - it can either go underneath, which means you lose ground clearance, or in the back, which reduces boot space quite a bit. We did the sums & worked out that with the miles we do it wouldn't be worth the expense of converting, but it does seem to be a sensible option if you use the vehicle a lot. If you go for it, make sure you use a 100% competent converter - LPG is much more dangerous than petrol, a small leak of liquid can create a very much larger explosive mixture in air so you really don't want to take any chances with the stuff
