We found out recently that Megan was a lot greener than we'd anticipated; particularly in canter. I asked my RI to teach me to lunge in the hope that I could bond with her, help her to gain confidence and balance and build on my experience through my RI. Today was lesson 1. You'll like this My RI showed me how and had Meg walk, trot, canter and halt with quiet voice commands... looked easy enough
Here's my very first effort <a href="http://www.clipshack.com/Clip.aspx?key=99F00D9AA1F9C4D0"><img src="http://www.clipshack.com/ClipLinkThumb.aspx?id=99F00D9AA1F9C4D0" border="0"></a>
As you'll see, Megan met a scarecrow in a space helmet, arms out, stiff gait and uncoordinated movements... she laughed so much she could hardly maintain a trot and snorted up lots of sand from the school floor I only rode for 10 minutes as the whole lesson was taken up with lunging, we both thoroughly enjoyed it though and I was very excited and felt we'd achieved something because she really 'listened' to me in the short ride afterwards
We've got years to perfect our partnership, so nice and slow it goes
