Met up with these guys this morning.

It's the RNLI, a charity Royal National Lifeboat Institution. They run the lifeboats search and rescue, All volunteers.

They were wanting to do some practice rescuing kayakers, so we volunteered to go and be rescued in various scenarios. It was just a routine practice run. Great fun.

The Search and Rescue coastguard Helicopters will often radio down to vessels to ask if they can do a quick exercise in winching and rescue techniques and a volunteer is swung around in the breeze and dropped back down.

The thought of the downdraught from the helicopter in a sea Kayak does not fill me with glee!

Music? Is that what you call it?

Drone video. I shall be having words about the choice of music.

Yes, Craig our biker friend was just finishing his training to be a helmsman. Another biker friend works for the RNLI too. The last call out they had was to try and rescue a lad who'd been washed off the rocks a couple of miles from us. The lad's grandfather went in after him and sadly both drowned.

It takes a special type of person to volunteer for something like that.
