Why do horses have such a problem with them!?
Nelson has always been funny with a monuting block, but i think hes got worse lol. Today it took me 10mins to get on, i tried putting him against a wall, then getting on, and he moved back, then wouldnt go forward or move at all near the block, then i trapped him in a corner so he couldnt go back, finally that worked. but whats the best way to stop naughty behaviour at mounting blocks?

thats a really good way of doing it. Nelson is now 14, and has many bad habits. i think he didnt like other people thumping on his back, hence him running backwards. but i praised him lots when he did stand, so im hoping he just needs a bit of reassurance and praise :) but i think i will do the whole "stand" thing, and see how that works :)

Thanks :D
