I use pet plans and yes I think you can activate straight away and it costs me £7.95 per month very good value I think for the cover you get, there are cheaper but I was told to avoid a couple I think E&L was one I was told to avoid - but could be wrong.

just a word of caution, if you need it activating now cos something might be wrong with horse most insurance companies won't pay out for anything in the first couple of weeks, maybe even the first month.

Going to try a prospective loan pony, owner wont let me without insurance which I thought I had but turns out I dont. Need it before tomorrow!

what about bhs gold membership would that not cover you i have heard its very good.

Even if you got insured, you wouldn't have any proof of it (what with the postal strikes etc )

I used Horse and Rider insurance when I used to share they were good I thought altho never needed it

Ive got insurance with petplan now and Ive printed out my cover plan with my reference number on it and everything so the person can check up if they want to.
