Hi
My horse has now been barefoot for about a week and a half.
So far I've only ridden her in the sand school since she had them off, but yesterday I went out on the roads and off road on to some slightly stony track in the woods.
On the roads she was fine, and at first she was fine in the woods too, but after a while she starting tripping and stumbling a bit, so we turned back and then on the roads she was better again. Downhill she also struggled a little on the roads.
Got her home and she is sound, only her hooves are a little scuffed up and chipped around the bottoms.
She seems sound this morning. Planning on lunging her tonight, and maybe hacking out again on Wednesday.
Is this kind of chipping and stuff normal when shoes first come off? We were out for about an hour - do you think that was too long? I feel bad.
