i've been looking back at photos of B over the years to compare his muscle tone etc. He was 25 when I bought him (advertised as 19!) and is now 35. I think he does brilliantly, some days he looks older than others, depending on the weather he can look tucked up and a bit poor (despite being carefully rugged!) he always looks nice and round first thing in the morning when I change his rugs! Sometimes I think he'd be happy with a couple hours turn out a day, especially in Winter (Which I would happily do for him but that pesky think 'work' gets in the way!)
He has cushings, liver damage, a lypoma, is partially sighted and has no teeth to speak off (they few that he does have are totally flat, offering no grinding and his front teeth are like little fangs!)
I feed him fast fibre (5 scoops), calm and condition (1 scoop), soaked grass nuts (1 scoop), Vitex 4 equids, equine answers 365, and have just started him on turmeric, black pepper and olive oil. And for treats he gets a bit of banana or ripe pear! He lives in at night all year round.
Piccies....
2007 aged 27, prior to Cushing diagnosis
And last month (aged 35)
So pleased with how my little man is doing
So let's see everyone else's oldie and hear your care plans for them
