So we have had a tiny set back me and sox. He had been working very well. Farrier came weds trimmed him, walked him back to his stable afterward Footsore!!! :( He had been on the hard ground and still appears foot sore. So no show tomorrow. No heat or pulses. Though I am very aware of abscesses or lami. Watching him very very closely and he is more comfortable in his boots and his stable, rubbing matting , deep bed.
It seems though I had got my hopes up I guess and was looking forward to the show as he was going So well. I guess its hit me a little hard. So trying not to think about the negative stuff. I thought I would do a quick post on how far we have come :D. Plus I cant sleep!

I'm sorry to hear that Sox is poorly. You must stay strong to help him the heat.
It's just a blip. He'll be back to normal soon. I'm sure you'll get to another show soon.

I do hope you're being very careful with him Lauren, particularly given his history.

Unless the trim was very severe - in which case get a new farrier - I would suspect there was already underlying soreness or he was teetering on laminitis. Even a good trim can be the last straw for a horse bordering on laminitis. You say there are no pulses but that doesn't make sense because any inflammation to the foot, be it bruising, soreness or laminitis, would produce an increased pulse due to the increased blood supply the body sends to deal with the problem.

I do hope you've had him on box rest since this happened and, since it's been going on a few days now, have had either the farrier or vet out?

That's a damn shame - hope a rest and a bit of TLC is all he needs.

If I walk my horse after the farrier had been and they are lame. I would be querying what the farrier removed, or, what it's highlighted.
It shouldn't make a difference/ improves the way of going.
I hack out straight after a trim, the same as people do straight after being shod.
