Our Posh box puppy- RakuChin Gucci

[Native Lover]

Gucci is a 10 week old Japanese chin puppy. My first every puppy and already a massive learning curve I was woken at 4 am with Gucci growling at Black Dog our 10 year old rescue black German Shepherd.... as my friend say Gucci is a Scooby snack for Black Dog lol. Well this is our journey from cute puppy to Horsesbox dog.
I will not be apologising for the massive amount of Pics this this thread will contain

5 days old Gucci lost his one litter sister he’s an only puppy now from his litter.

Why a Japanese Chin ? Because I have been thinking of getting a little dog to accompany on walks but not one that needs 10 miles a day.
My daughter said I could have pick of her litter of cocker spaniel gun dog lines. But I went to stay with my friend earlier in the year a few times and absolutely fell in love with her grown up Japanese Chin Gizmo a older relative to Gucci. That was it my mind was made up, my friend rang there breeder and a litter was due in 4 weeks. Wow it was that quick ..... these pics are Gucci with his eyes open at about 2 weeks old He melts my heart.
How anybody can hurt, abandon or neglect such lovable bundles of cuteness as any puppy or dog shocks me to the core.

He come off crufts bloodline amd they have a lot of Gucci show champion relatives at there home ifs full to the brim of there show dogs and pups. They are not puppy farm they rarely breed litters and keep many that they do breed. Definitely responsible breeders with a genuine love and knowledge of the breed.

He's going to be a real comfort cuddler! I loved our Springer, who was really my dog, but little Alfie is more OH's, and I rather envy him the lapdog size. Small dogs really are the best of both worlds - all the lovely characteristics of a dog in a small package. Gucci is very lucky - I think he's in for a fab life. What a nice way to start Christmas!

Over the next 8-9 weeks I kept getting weekly photos, videos and updates of the breeder via my friend. I loved receiving them I know he’s had the best start a puppy could want because he lost his litter sister he’s regularly been socialised by their older litter of 12 -18 month youngsters for company and playing.

I been on a bit of a mad new puppy spending spree ( mainly pink... yes I did know I was getting a dog puppy)

I bought him a puppy pen to set u as his bedroom and safe place to eat away from our German Shepherd. A pink dog bed and Christmas blanket and cushions set, lots of tiny toys, grooming brush, dogs bowls a play tent. Loads of stuff ready for pick up day 22 Dec 2021....

We got to meet most of Gucci relatives when we went to pick him up

Thank you huggy.

Apart from my daughters King Charles I have always had rescues and older big dog breeds, old English sheep dog, Rottweiler X, and 4 German Shepherds.

He’s going to be spoiled rotten. Just hope I do the puppy/ teenage stage right. I plan puppy parties and puppy classes for him x

He’s met the noisy hoover today and MR G has put mesh along the bottom of our back metal gates. So he can go out now exploring our garden but not on pavements yet.

I’ve never been a fan of lap dogs for myself, but he’s certainly very cute, I’m sure he’ll bring you lots more joy than he already has and will be a wonderful companion.

I love working dogs normally but he’s a future companion for my walks. I wanted a small dog.

Well today Gucci went to pets at home for a collar and dogs tag with our details after phone number. I had to buy him more toys there were a few I liked.
He was in my pet carrier bag,the shop assistant loved him. His little read parker style coat arrived, and we bought a puppy car seat for a bargain £12. Good day alround.
My living room looks like a toddler has been staying

He has the little house on order

Today Gucci ventured outside onto the patio which has been Gucci proofed. I have ordered some picket fence to make him a safe and secure outdoor area to play in while he’s a puppy. I will then try getting him toilet trained. He can go in and out the patio doors to his little area.

Here is patio pics

He really is a fluff ball - how do you know which end is which!?

it’s New Years Eve start of a new book 365 pages to write.

Today I brushed the patio, and made a secure out door area for Gucci I know it’s small but he can go out for his toilet training
And to play . He’s about 75% toilet trained to ‘clever boy’ already

My friends came over yesterday with some presents for Gucci. A extendable lead, a pink harness coat toys and treats. He spoilt puppy. He loves his toy box lol he thinks it’s a glittery bed.
