i am doing a riding school show tomorrow and am riding a new pony called kash. she is lovely although i havent ridden her- but tends 2 stick her head in the air and run into canter- she is in an egggbut snaffle with a cavesson. any tips?
Hmmm, well if she is normally ridden like that I doubt you will be able to keep her in a outline for too long. She needs to build up muscle which takes time.
Keep a nice, even pressure on the rein (maybe squeeze them alternately, but only squeeze - no pulling) push her forward and keep her at a nice rhythm.
If she rushes from trot half-halt her to get her into a steady rhythm and try again. It might take a while and a few attempts.
Not sure if thats 100% so I will happily be corrected by anyone!!
