plaiting a clydesdale mane and tail in the traditional way

hi, can anybody give me advice on how to plait a clydesdale mane and tail in the traditional way for in hand showing? I can't find a book or anywhere to get info?

with the flights and tail loop thing?

Is the tail short and dock trimmed?

Yep, all that ding dong!! His tail is short and trimmed up but uneven and growing out from shows last year.

Hi again, apologies for the delay in replying. No I don't have any equipment, such as the flights or raffia etc. Guess the new shoes for me will have to wait!!
