Polework

How many poles do you have laid out for polework. Do you have some as raised poles.
If your on your own and the horse is lazy and knocks them do you keep getting off to reposition them.

In the days when I did pole work (over 15 months ago now), I used to set up about 5 different sets of poles. He would invariably knock them, so when there were no longer anymore to ride, I either gave up or got off and replaced them. Our school is over 40 by 60 though so we have lots of room to do this.

I often used to do pole work in hand because I didn't want to be clambering on and off. I only have 4 poles, currently, hopefully we will have more at the new place and with a school to use perhaps I will do more, especially with the little boys, I think they would enjoy pole work

I used to use five poles and raise the opposite end of each one, to be fair I never had to get off and move them as Belle never knocked them, but I guess it would be a pain in the bum to have to keep jumping off.
