Hi as you can see by the title, im thinking about doing the test and im wondering if anybody else has done it and what it consits of. Im 15 years old boy and can lead hacks out on a main road.

Would recommend all riders should do their riding and road safety test before they even go on the road - but that is my personal opinion.
They do Riding and Road Safety at Writtle Agricultural College in Chelmsford in Essex. It would also be worth while finding out via the BHS website who your local area rep is and then finding out via them where nearest course will be held. It is about £100 for the training and exam.
The Exam is in three parts. A written exam on road signs and you must score at least 9 our ot 10 to pass. Only then if you pass do you go onto the next part. Riding route and showing skills on 'pretend' road system again this is marked and has to be passed before going out onto the actual road and you need to be able to show right hand turn, left hand turn, control in walk and trot etc.
Are you also a member of Pony Club, as branches run Riding and Road Safety courses as well for their members. This is cheaper. You will need a quiet sensible pony / horse who is obedient and will stand still when asked.
If you are taking hacks out on the road then it is essential you have this, but would also be aware that you may be under age for liability etc, so would investigate that you are actually old enough.
Good luck.
